Farmers’ organizations staged a significant protest at Ladowal Chowk today in opposition to a rally held by Home Minister Amit Shah in the city’s Dana Mandi. Chanting slogans, the farmers expressed their discontent with the central government’s policies.
The district administration, anticipating potential disruptions, barred the farmers from entering Ludhiana. Consequently, the demonstrators gathered at Ladowal Chowk, a strategic point on the outskirts of the city, to voice their grievances.
The presence of protesters at Ladowal Chowk led to the police redirecting traffic towards Hambra Road to manage the congestion and maintain order. This diversion caused some delays and inconvenience for commuters.
The protest highlights the ongoing tensions between farmers’ groups and the government. Despite the preventive measures, the farmers made their voices heard, underscoring the unresolved issues that continue to stir dissent within the agricultural community.
Authorities maintained a strong security presence to ensure the rally in Dana Mandi proceeded without incident. However, the farmers’ protest at Ladowal Chowk served as a poignant reminder of the enduring conflict and the demand for meaningful dialogue and resolution.
