The Magadh Express, traveling from Delhi to Islampur, experienced a serious incident today when the train was split into two parts due to a broken coupling. The incident occurred between Taviniganj and Raghunathpur in Bihar’s Buxar district. Thankfully, no passengers were injured.
East Central Railway’s Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), Saraswati Chandra, confirmed the incident, noting that it took place at 11:08 AM. The broken coupling caused significant disruption, halting train traffic on the route for nearly three hours. The route was finally cleared, and train operations were restored at 2:25 PM.
Following the incident, an official investigation has been ordered to determine the cause of the coupling failure and to prevent such occurrences in the future. The temporary disruption caused inconvenience to passengers, but the swift restoration of service helped to minimize the overall impact.
